BRIEF REVIEW OF A CLASSIC THEME FRAMEWORK

Thesis by DIYthemes is one of the earliest theme framework / builder themes to have been created, and for many it’s the only one they will use.

With its combination of professional, cleanly coded HTML, PHP and CSS combined with a user-friendly control panel, Thesis can be used to create pretty much any kind of website you can think of.

Personally, I think it works best with modernistic blog sites and marketing information sites. If you want a punchy no-nonsense business site, iThemes Flexx might be a better option.

As with any decent builder theme / framework, it’s possible to build sites without coding knowledge, however Thesis does require some coding skills to really get the most out of it. Zero coding knowledge? Possibly Headway would suit you better, especially if you like the idea of a visual layout editor (drag and drop website creation).

A good thing about Thesis is that even without coding skills, it’s hard to build a bad looking site with it. And the typography choices are excellent. Just browse through their site showcase to see what I mean.
