Personal Productivity Tracking

Personal Productivity Tracking

Personal productivity will enable you to achieve results quickly in less time.

First ask yourself how many productive hours do you work a day? Before you learn any techniques, before you try and be more efficient, you need to track your time.

Split your time into 3 categories, Non-productive Time, Productive Time, and Leisure Time.

This scenario is based on internet marketer’s time

  • 1. Non Productive Time: Checking Emails, Chatting with friends, answering that unexpected phone call
  • 2. Productive Time: Creating products, Marketing products, Creating more Value
  • 3. Leisure Time: Spending time with family, or pursuing hobbies (golf, swimming etc).

This would be your time-log. Some activities mentioned above may be considered non-productive to you, and some otherwise. For example checking emails may be considered a productive activity for you.

STEP 1- Personal Productivity Tracking

Whatever it is, make sure you track where your time goes with a time-log. Try to be very detail, then you can know where your minutes are going.

STEP 2- Refer to your time log

Make sure you refer to it at the end of the week! There is no point keeping a time-log without referring to it. Soon you’ll be able to see how much ‘productive time’ you have spent.

STEP 3- Set deadlines for your to-do list

When you have a deadline, you will be more result oriented because you know you only have a limited time to complete the task.

STEP 4- Stop and rest

After you have completed the steps above, you may stop time-logging. Write down what ‘non productive‘ activities you had spent most time on and make sure you can see them.

You may repeat recording your activities again to track your time. Do this maybe twice a year. Record where your time goes, refer to your time-log, and DEAL with it immediately.

Time logging will be a good reminder on your bad habits too. Just start now, it does not take much effort.
